We asked the children what they thought about Severn Beach Primary School...

Nathan

I like school because I like doing my work. I like numeracy and at the moment we are learning about odd and even numbers. My teacher uses the interactive whiteboard to help us. I enjoy playing with my friends. At playtimes we go out and play games about fairy tales and pretend we are being chased by goblins.

I am a member of the School Council. We meet on Fridays and count the money for the Peer Mediator stands.

I like using the new computers. We use a program called Amazing Animals which I haven’t got at home.

William

We have been doing lots of art work lately. We went on a trip to the River Severn and looked through telescopes at all the birds. I saw oyster catchers and seagulls. When we came back we did some mud printing using stencils. We have also been learning about the Romans. We made shields and talked about them in achievement assembly. The Romans were interesting. Their baths were a bit like a sports centre.

I sometimes stay to school dinners. I like the dinners because there are lots of healthy choices.

Yasmine

School is fun because the teachers give us lots of different activities to do.

I enjoy art because we are learning new skills. We have been learning about sketching and about the work of Henri Matisse.

I also really enjoy PE because our teacher gives us some choice of the PE activities we do.

I am a peer mediator because I think it’s important to help people. We wear badges and special sashes. I am looking forward to getting the peer mediator stands because it will be easier to see the children who need help. To improve our school I would like more markings on the playground and more equipment such as skipping ropes.
